WeHauz is a solution that involves the design and fit-out of individual high cube 40ft shipping containers to provide a semi-permanent practical livable space (Hauz) for up to 6 domestic residents, that can be mass produced and relocated with ease at any time.
Each Hauz will comprise of a full kitchen, generous dining area, lounge area, sleeping space for 2 adults and up to 4 children and a separate contemporary toilet & shower room.
Each will have its own secure independent access and will be fully insulated, with triple glazing, to a BER rating of at least B2.
Each Hauz will be delivered and positioned on site and will have simple independent external connectable mains to water, electric and sewage, with prior specifications and site requirements provided.
Multiple Hauzes can be connected and arranged in numerous vertical and horizontal formations to provide maximum efficiencies of space on any prepared site and can be relocated with ease.
WeHauz also embodies Minister O’Brien’s intent to “continue to improve not only the quantity of housing output across all the various forms of tenure but also to maintain and improve on the quality of residential development in an economic and environmentally sustainable manner”. We have upcycling at the core of our business model as each Hauz will comprise of a retired single-use shipping container.
Energy demands for each Hauz are as efficient as technically possible and solely electric. Solar panelling and battery pack options are also possible.
This is an instant, practical, and cost-effective solution to a problem that has quickly become a national crisis in Ireland. Our Hauzes far exceed any regulatory requirements of State provided accommodation and are entirely mobile should demand or logistics change in the future.
And no, you can’t hear the rain!
